Supporting Targeted Research
Want to be a Sponsor?
The AOARF offers opportunities for companies or individuals to provide full or partial sponsorship for a research project in an area of interest.
Sponsoring a research project is an excellent way to support targeted research, meet social responsibility goals and give back to the community.
The Research Foundation has two methods of overseeing sponsored research:
A request for independent research in a particular field can be tendered and supervised by the AOA Research Foundation, or
A sponsor of requested research may nominate a researcher but the supervision and auditing of the research is supervised by the AOA Research Foundation.
Because the research project and related funds are managed by the Foundation, this funding method removes any potential for conflict of interest with a known company supporting specific research by known researchers.

Research Grants and Scholarships
AOA is the peak professional organisation for orthopaedic surgery in Australia. AOA provides education, training and CPD for orthopaedic surgeons, and is the leading authority in the provision of orthopaedic information to the community.
The mission of the Australian Orthopaedic Association Research Foundation is to promote and support research into musculoskeletal disorders. Since the establishment of the AOA Research Fund in 1970, more than $1.65 million has been given to support over 130 research projects.
